VSV Group is launching an extensive financial and operational steering reform project. The Group seeks operational and financial efficiency with the new Microsoft Dynamics 365 comprehensive solution. The chosen partner was software and service company Digia, which has strong expertise in the energy sector and is one of Finland’s largest Microsoft Dynamics 365 suppliers.
VSV Group is an energy sector company operating in the Satakunta region and Southwest Finland, consisting of Vakka-Suomen Voima Ltd., which is responsible for electricity distribution, VSV-Energia Ltd, which specialises in electricity production and district heating, Vertek Ltd, which focuses on network construction, and APT-Enertel Ltd, which implements electrical design. The Group employs approximately 200 people and its turnover in 2023 was over EUR 50 million.
“We are actively developing our operations and, as part of our process development, we are introducing a new ERP system. We want better visibility into the financial and operational steering of the entire Group, and especially more efficient management of mobile work as well as procurement and material management”, says Antti Jyväkorpi, Development Director at VSV Group.
In the renewal, several separate systems used by the Group will be replaced with the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform, which enables the management of the entity in one system. The system also provides efficient tools for project contracting and fieldwork management. In addition, it makes the implementation of future development needs more agile than before.
“The reform enables the efficiency and consistency of our operations. Modern ERP helps us better than before in genuine knowledge-based management and in implementing our strategy. In the future, we can monitor our projects’ costs and make real-time forecasts”, Jyväkorpi adds.
“In addition, we make the everyday life of our field workers easier, for example, through more efficient resourcing and guidance. Everyday life is also made smoother by the new easy-to-use mobile application, where professionals can make entries directly at the site.”
Reform is an investment in growth and development
In the first phase, VSV Group’s new Microsoft Dynamics 365 will include Microsoft Business Central for financial, sales, project, procurement, and logistics management and Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM for customer relationship management and field service. An integration platform based on Microsoft Azure Integration Services will ensure smooth integrations.
Software and service company Digia, one of Finland’s largest Microsoft Dynamics 365 suppliers with strong experience and references in the energy sector, was chosen as the implementation partner.
“It is great to be able to build an even more intelligent business in the energy sector in cooperation with VSV Group. When business environments change, new demands are placed on ERP systems. They must support operational processes, business growth and up-to-date strategies in real-time. And this is also what VSV Group is willing to invest in – development and growth,” says Heikki Palosaari, Director at Digia.
The renewal work is already underway. The project started with the definition phase in autumn 2024. The implementation phase will start in the spring of 2025, and the commissioning will occur in the autumn of 2025 and spring of 2026.
