On his last day as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor, Shaktikanta Das recalled how he set out on December 12, 2018 with an aim to drive a team oriented and consultative approach at the central bank of the country.

“In last six years it has been my endeavour to stick to principles which we outlined. We had a wide range of consultation on various issues,” Das said in a press conference on December 10.
As his term ends today, Das said that going ahead the new central bank governor Sanjay Malhotra needs to focus on six tasks —
1. Restore growth inflation balance
2. Remain alert in a changing world
3. Take cyber security and cyber challenges seriously
4. Capitalise on harnessing benefits of new technology
5. Pioneer CBDC, it has a huge potential in the future
6. Financial inclusion
